19 Aug What are the Steps of Putting up a Web Site?
Hey everyone…. How many of you have web sites? If you already have one, then perhaps this message is not for you.. Otherwise, for all of you who don’t have your OWN website (not just a page on Myspace or Facebook), then here are some simple steps….
- 1. You need a domain name. A domain name is like www.BlackInternetMarketing.com Domain names, depending on the extensions, (.com, .net, .info etc.), domain names can be under $10 per YEAR… So for less than $1/ month, you can have and own your very own name!
- You need to host it somewhere. Hosting is basically a computer called a server. When someone types in your web site address, www.BlackInternetMarketing.com, then that server responds with giving the files and pictures and other content to your internet browser (like Internet Explorer or Firefox or Netscape). Hosting is getting cheap folks… Some packages from reputable hosting providers start less than $5!
- Development…. Now, your website can be very plain or it can be very extravagant depending on your needs. You can do it yourself, or hire a web developer….BUT, if you do it yourself, there are page and site builders that will help you build the site using Drag and Drop techniques… Pretty cool right?
So the budget for a basic site is about $5 per month… the cost of a Combo meal at your local fast food restaurant… Spare $5 and let’s get started.
