The Science of Getting Rich…. Chapter 1 Review

As an avid inspirational/motivational reader, I came across this book a few months ago and was INTRIGUED by it. I have read it several times and want to share it here. The book is written by Wallace D. Wattles. I have made mention of it in a previous blog post, and wanted to make sure that you grab a copy.

You know, some things just make too much sense ….. perhaps the way this book addresses how people get rich just boils down to some basic principles, that may be more easily theorized than practiced. But, compared to the other books that I have read on this subject, it makes a lot of sense!

One of the things that it does immediately, is dispel the myth that it is a bad thing to WANT to be rich. There is NOTHING wrong with wanting to be rich. Even the Bible states that it is the LOVE of money that is the root of all evil… Not MONEY. Anyway, I digress… So without further ado… Here is my summary of Chapter 1 of The Science of Getting Rich.

Professor Wattles first defines the Fact that “…no man can rise to his greatest possible height in talent or soul development unless he has plenty of money…” The reasoning behind this statement is basically that all things in life, naturally evolve, grow, or even DESIRE to evolve, grow, and survive. To do this, and to optimize one’s soul and talent development, once needs resources. This is normally money….

Success is defined in this chapter as “…becoming what you want to be.” and you can only do that with resources and making use of “things”. These “things” are ok, as LIKE produces LIKE. This means as you invest up front in things and resources to make you better, so should your results eventually correlate!

Chapter 1…. breaks down the Three motives for which we all live: Mind, Body, and Soul.

Mind: One furthers their mind with books, time to study, travel and observation… This takes resources.

Body: The body needs food, shelter, clothes, freedom from excessive toil, rest, and recreation…. This takes resources.

Soul: One needs to bestow and extend love…. This can take resources!

Because these three efforts are all in the same for importance, we can look ways in which they can be further developed in tandem.  However, this takes overall access to resources!

Read over this review and make sure you get your copy of The Science of Getting Rich!
