Social Media’s Executive Decision: Who Would You Hire?

Today, executives tap dance to understand Twitter, Facebook, Digg, SEO, Attribution, Optimization, Landing pages, and all that Interactive and Digital Marketing encompasses.  So the golden question of today is, “As a hiring manager, who do you hire”.

Over the past years in management, I’ve had the opportunity to see a cadre of presentations.  There are the guys who came in the office in Doc Martins and a button up polo and those who were suited & booted up to the max.

The question becomes, should one hire solely on looks and theory, or on presentation?  Or allow a more liberal approach with proven business results?

Him?

Or Him?

As the thick lines between personal and business affairs diminish and become thinner and thinner, will the Executive dress and polished shoes and demeanor slowly be replaced with the Tshirt wearing guy who works from his house?

The golden question is, would you stretch out and sacrifice a business casual or business dress code and bypass the executive who knows how to “TALK” theory or do you hire the young 25-something year old who can show B2B & B2C key performance indicators that he has met to improve bottom line?

Do clothes still make the man or does business revenue generated make the man (or boy)? Hmmm…. Please comment below
