19 Nov Yuck Mouth: Over 700 Bad Words to Block in ECommerce Signups
Many ecommerce and user/community-based sites require the generation of an available user name. While many site sign up forms are using already-existing sign up forms like Twitter and/or Facebook’s api, there may come the time for one to create special coding in order to block inappropriate names.
This need may especially arise in the B2B market place, where an upstanding user community would be a coveted goal.
Why else would you want someone to join your community with a name like “beeYotch” ?
There may also be a time when you want to block certain words in content submissions. This list may be a good start to determining what content may or may not be appropriate. Just think, I would bet that Disney has to block all of these!
Feel free to download this list of blockedwords and good luck on keeping your community free of Yuck Mouth user names.
PS! If you are looking for Rated G or PG terms to block, this is not a list for your tender eyes. The list is a business tool and while you may smirk or smile at some of the entries, should be thought of in productive ways to keep your community clean and/or your ecommerce appropriate 😉
