Obsolescence of Interactive Technology

The Interactive Space is churning at record speeds.  When I think of how often I have to even update WordPress as my blogging platform, this lets me know that new technology is evolving to patch old technological implementations.  This is ok for me, in that newer models of WordPress offer newer solutions to identified problems.

The beauty of this model, however, is that new evolution of online advancement for WordPress is modular and phaseal.

Online product and website marketing has to be built in the same fashion.  We need to BUILD for today’s problems and business requirements, while leaving room for subsequent phases and improvements.  I think we best do this today by structuring solid foundations which allow new improvements and edification.

But the bottom line, to me, is you have to build something today to meet the functional needs of today.

Delaying launches of products to anticipate tomorrow’s needs requires a full monetary and resource assessment of the return on investment …

Yep, I said it.  What this means to me is that it is JUST as important to consider the cost of NOT implementing a functional fix, as it is to pay for the development, implementation, and improvement costs.

The next time that your organization or your C Level execs question the need to implement and test something quickly based on best practices and assessments of immediate ROI vs. delaying software and online solutions to cure an immediate functional need, remind them in your evangelizing that public companies inform and tap dance for investors quarterly….

Not yearly.

My mantra is that I will continue to help implement interactive solutions for the best practices and needs of the business bottom line… when the need occurs.

What’s yours?
