Barack Obama’s “Black Internet Marketing”

Obama’s Campaign Reports 200K new contributors from his website.  Amazing.  Furthermore, in cash value, he raised $31M in the month of April, 2008.  How?

From an internet marketing perspective, Obama’s website does multiple things well.

  •  – Social networking:  Obama’s website sets the stage for rich social networking amongst his supporters.  This platform creates a very viral campaign and increases numbers online dramatically.
  •  – Strong Email Campaigns:  Obama’s campaign sends out rich email stories, covering the campaign, and asking for very small contributions.  These contributions, in large volume and numbers, add cash value to the campaign.
  •  – Strong content:  His website covers news articles written about him, as well as upcoming appearances.  His values and candidacy is documented well on his site.
  •  – Repetitive Contributions:  By getting the alliance of his supporters, keeping them abreast of all initiatives that he is involved with, Obama is able to continually get repeat contributions.

Barack’s camp has MASTERED the art of internet marketing.  We should all take time to study this phenomenon and learn.
